Build Your Own Podcast
Studio
Mignis designs and installs podcast and vodcast studios at your premises — office, boardroom or dedicated space. We handle equipment selection, acoustic setup, cable management and crew training. You own the studio; we build it right.
Your studio.
Permanently in-house.
For organisations that want full control over their content production without booking a crew every time.
Some organisations reach a point where hiring a production crew for every episode stops making sense — not because the crew is not good, but because the volume of content they want to produce, or the speed at which they need to produce it, justifies having a permanent facility on their own premises.
This service is for those organisations. Corporates, media companies, large churches, universities and professional services firms who want the capability in-house — a purpose-built studio in their boardroom, a dedicated recording room fitted out to broadcast specification, or a compact home office pod for a solo content creator who is serious about production quality.
We assess the space, specify the right equipment for your budget and use case, install everything cleanly, and train your team to run it. You own the studio outright from day one. There are no ongoing fees from us unless you choose to book our crew for production sessions — which many clients do.
Every component,
properly specified
We specify only what your space and use case actually require — no unnecessary equipment, no corners cut on what matters.
Cinema-grade or broadcast cameras specified for your room size, lighting conditions and output requirements. We cover single-camera solo setups through to multi-camera panel configurations — all with appropriate lenses, mounts and rigging for a clean, permanent installation.
Broadcast-quality microphones, audio interfaces and mixing hardware selected for your specific recording scenario — whether that is a desk-mounted condenser for solo recording, a multi-channel mixer for panel discussions, or a wireless lavalier system for a more flexible setup.
Permanently rigged LED lighting systems, tuned for consistent colour temperature and exposure across every recording session. We set lighting positions, diffusion and intensity levels so your team gets repeatable results without needing to re-light between sessions.
Vision switchers, capture cards and recording hardware that allow your team to cut between cameras, mix audio and record directly to a hard drive or cloud storage — all from a single operator position. Integrated into the desk build so the workflow is clean and intuitive.
We assess the acoustic properties of your space and recommend appropriate treatment — absorption panels, diffusion, bass trapping — that materially improves your recording quality without requiring a full architectural renovation. We source and install acoustic panels as part of the build.
Every cable is routed, labelled and secured. Every device has a permanent, clearly designated position. The result is a studio that looks and functions professionally — not a tangle of wires on a desk — and that any member of your team can operate and troubleshoot with confidence.
Three builds,
any brief
Turn an existing meeting room into a recording-ready space with minimal disruption to your day-to-day operations. We work within your existing furniture layout and integrate the studio equipment so that the room continues to function as a boardroom when recording is not in session.
Ideal for organisations that record regularly but cannot dedicate a room exclusively to production. The setup is designed to be activated quickly and put away neatly when the room is needed for meetings.
A full acoustic treatment, custom desk build and broadcast-grade equipment installation in a room dedicated entirely to production. This is the highest-capability option — built for organisations with frequent, high-volume recording needs and a strong commitment to production quality.
Every element is permanent and optimised: camera positions, lighting rigs, acoustic panels, operator station and talent positions. Your team walks in, turns on the system, and records. Nothing to set up.
A compact single-camera setup ideal for content creators and remote professionals who want to record high-quality solo content without a full studio footprint. Designed to integrate with an existing home office — your desk, your background — but with lighting, audio and camera properly specified and installed.
The result is a consistent, professional on-camera presence for podcast recordings, YouTube content, webinars and online courses — without the setup friction of a gear bag.
Site visit to handover,
in four steps
Site Consultation & Measurement
We visit your premises, measure the space, assess the acoustic properties, check power and data infrastructure, and discuss your content goals and recording frequency. This gives us everything we need to specify the right equipment and layout for your exact situation — not a generic package.
Equipment Specification & Quote
Based on the site consultation, we prepare a written specification that details every item of equipment, the installation plan, acoustic treatment recommendations, and a full itemised quote. You review and approve before we purchase anything. If you want to phase the build or adjust the spec, we work with you to get the scope right.
Installation Day
Our team arrives with all equipment pre-sourced and manages the full installation — camera rigging, lighting positioning, cable runs, acoustic panel placement, desk integration and system configuration. We test every element before we leave. Installation is scheduled to minimise disruption to your operations, and we clean up fully on completion.
Handover & Training
We walk your team through the complete operation of the studio — every piece of hardware, every workflow, every setting. We cover standard recording procedures, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance basics. You receive a written quick-start guide tailored to your specific setup. We remain available for questions after handover.
Common questions about
studio installations
How much does a podcast studio installation cost?
Studio installation pricing is fully custom — it depends on the size of the room, the equipment tier you choose, and the acoustic requirements of the space. A boardroom conversion with quality but entry-level equipment will cost significantly less than a full dedicated studio with broadcast-grade cameras, a custom desk build and comprehensive acoustic treatment.
After a site visit and measurement session, we provide a written specification and itemised quote that covers all equipment, installation labour and handover training. There are no hidden costs. Contact us to arrange a no-obligation site consultation.
Do you work with our existing equipment?
Yes. If you already own cameras, microphones, a laptop or other production equipment, we can assess what you have and integrate compatible items into the new studio setup. We will advise honestly on what is worth keeping and what needs upgrading — so you are not paying to replace equipment that is already fit for purpose.
Bring a list of what you have to the site consultation and we will factor it into the specification.
How long does installation take?
A boardroom conversion typically takes one to two days, including equipment installation, cable management and basic acoustic treatment. A full dedicated studio build — with custom desk, comprehensive acoustic treatment and broadcast-grade infrastructure — can take up to a week depending on scope.
We plan the installation schedule with you upfront and aim to complete within agreed timeframes, minimising disruption to your day-to-day operations. Most installations can be scheduled outside business hours or across a weekend if needed.
Do you provide training for our team?
Yes. Handover training is included with every installation. We walk your team through the full operation of the studio — camera settings, audio levels, switcher operation, recording workflows and troubleshooting basics — so you can run sessions confidently without needing a production crew every time.
We also provide a written quick-start guide tailored to your specific setup, and we remain available for follow-up questions after handover. If you need additional training sessions for new team members down the line, we can arrange those separately.
Can Mignis also handle ongoing production in the studio you build?
Yes — and many clients take this route. We build your studio, hand it over fully operational, and then you book the Mignis team for regular recording sessions. You get a permanent in-house facility you own outright, plus experienced producers and operators who already know your exact setup and workflow.
This is particularly popular with organisations that want high production value on a regular schedule but do not yet have the internal team to operate a studio independently. See our vodcast production service for details.
What areas do you serve for studio installations?
We serve Cape Town, Stellenbosch and the broader Western Cape for studio installations. For clients outside the Western Cape, we travel nationally by arrangement — travel and accommodation costs are included in the quote so there are no surprises.
Contact us with your location and we will confirm feasibility and provide a full scope.
